Our Journey - Our Story

A journey through the mansion's restoration from 1874

History & Restoration

Step back through time as we reveal the mansion's journey from 1874 to the 21st century.

Our Story

From weathered walls to renewed grandeur, every corner tells a tale of care and passion.

The Coin Harvey House located in Huntington, West Virginia, was built in 1874 by William Hope "Coin" Harvey, a prominent attorney, author, presidential candidate, and advocate for silver-based currency.

This historic home, noted for its New Orleans-style architecture and stained glass windows, was donated by Lenore Kaiser through the dedicated vision & restoration efforts of Jim St. Clair as trustee for life of the EJ Kaiser + David Gerlach Foundation.

Starting in the 2000s, thanks to many generous donations and through the help of volunteers, a few grants were secured to restore the structure.

Rebuilding Our Heritage

The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and stands as a symbol of Huntington’s architectural legacy and preservation success.
